Dana Group Associates for the past several years has been one of the more senior sites of New England for Cogmed, the proven Working Memory Training Program developed in Sweden to treat children and adults with impairing Attention Deficit Disorders. Over 5 million children in the United States are diagnosed with ADHD, most of them having a Working Memory Deficit. Signs of a Working Memory Deficit are:

Concentration problems
Being easily distracted
Problems starting activities and carrying them to completion
Forgetting instructions
Difficulties with reading comprehension
Forgetting homework, books, gym clothes or instruments
Daydreaming instead of listening in school

COGMED has implemented their Memory Training Program in England, Scandinavia and Switzerland with over 1000 children experiencing outstanding results. COGMED is the first scientifically proven program for working memory training by using intense and systematic training which delivers major improvements – strong, proven, durable and safe effects. 80% in both research and clinical setting have seen the positive scientific effects in:

Improved working memory/attention
Improved impulse inhibition
Better complex reasoning skills
Better academic performance

COGMED Training Program is an individualized treatment plan of Exercises and Software Review, Clinical Coaching and a Motivational Program. The basic training program is five weeks with a booster training package available for an additional three weeks. This treatment plan is designed for children:

Having Attention difficulties
- Often overlaps with ADHD diagnosis but not always
- Often co-occurring diagnoses
  (Asperger's syndrome, learning disabilities, etc.)
- Normal IQ
Ages 7 to 18 (younger ages need to know letters and numbers)
On medication or no medication
Girls and boys
