Emma Ben-Avi

I am a Doctoral student in the Clinical Psychology PsyD program at William James College. I have experience providing psychotherapy to adults and emerging adults.  I also have extensive experience providing assessments for children and adults (age 7-90) and worked for NYU Hospital and Columbia University Hospital testing clients. My specialties include working with children and adolescents who experience a myriad of behavioral, medical and mental health difficulties. In therapy I create treatment goals which are individualized to each person so that all of my clients feel that they are receiving therapy which works best for them. I often use client-centered, strength-based, cognitive-behavioral, and solution-focused approaches. I utilize several different therapeutic techniques such as CBT, DBT, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and strength-based treatment modalities as well as a variety of other interventions. I aim to work with my clients in order to better their quality of life in the short and long-term.
